TRANSFORMING A NORMAL RESTAURANT IN MARSAXLOKK INTO A HOTSPOT
The location is Marsaxlokk, a unique fishing village in the Mediterranean island of Malta, famous for it’s seafood restaurants. Catering competition on the shores of Marsaxlokk is rife and we had the hard task of creating a restaurant above all the rest. The idea was to provide a fresh, charming, comfortable yet elegant environment for informal dining, a place set to be ideal to chill out in the good company of family and friends.
The choice of colours is prevalent in the restaurant decor, and the choice of oranges and reds seemed to be the ideal choice for a Mediterranean setting. A wave of colours, synonomous with the seascape of Marsaxlokk, gives a warm greeting to the loyal customers entering the premises, leading them to a white and spacious ambience adorned with occasional paintings offering splashes of colours on the neutral walls.
A large mural of a teenage girl giving the thumbs up for the quality of the premises and its delicacies, provides an inspiring reception to the incoming customer.
Once the customers are dining they are entertained with the dancing bubbles in the bubble wall features adorning the central bar, an intriguing addition to the decor to involve the element of movement in a yet static environment.
The end result is a fascinating decor in pure neutral ambience highlighted with splashes of Mediterranean colours with marine inspirations……..a fresh and inviting look complementing the vast array of seafood specialities for the discerning client…….SIMPLY DELICIOUS.
